Acu-Market is open and will continue to accept and ship orders. Our customer service team is here to support you at 1.866.440.7703 from 9am – 6pm EST Monday–Friday.

As a licensed prescription drug wholesale distributor Acu-Market has been designated by the  US Department of Homeland Security as part of a “Critical Infrastructure Industry”. Under that designation, Acu-Market has a special responsibility to maintain a normal work schedule.

To ensure we can to continue to supply practitioners with needed supplies and protect the safety of our employees, we are enacting, effective immediately, the following temporary measures until further notice:

Customer Pick-Up Orders

In the interest of safety and social distancing, orders may no longer be picked up at our warehouse. All orders must be shipped.

Same Day Shipping

Orders must be placed by 4:30pm EST to guarantee same day shipping.

Inventory

We understand that the potential for supply issues is a major concern for our customers. We are actively working with manufacturers to reduce and/or eliminate potential disruptions. We continue to receive restocking shipments on a daily basis.  Please continue to visit acu-market.com to check the stock status (our most up to date information).

The AIT Symposium scheduled for May 16-17, 2020 has been postponed. We will update you as soon as the new date for the event has been selected.

Backorder Minimum

Due to extraordinary circumstance with order volume and vendor availability we must temporarily modify our backorder shipping policy. If your order has an item on backorder and the value of that item(s) is less than $50 or less it will be cancelled.  Please check back daily to see if this item comes into stock (our website has the most up to date stock status). If you have a backorder that is $50 or more we will ship it to you for free when it comes back into stock.

Adding Items to Existing Orders

We can no longer accommodate order additions once you place your order.  Any additions to orders will be shipped as a new order.

As a reminder acuscript is a tremendous resource that will allow you to make product recommendations to your patients and we take care of the rest.  You control the profit and we pay you on the 5^th of every month.  If you have not already signed up for acuscript now is the perfect time to do so.

In 2000, Gary founded Acu-Market with humble beginnings and a big mission – to empower practitioners with the tools they needed to treat patients.  He did so with a simple shelf in a guestroom of his house. POCA Tech Scholarships

Community Acupuncture Scholarship Empowers the Next Generation of Acupuncturists

Community Acupuncture aims to make the physical, mental and emotional well-being associated with acupuncture within the reach of everybody. Acu-Market believes that to strengthen community acupuncture overall, we must strengthen the people who are enhancing the quality of life of others through acupuncture. In partnership with the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA), Acu-Market established an annual scholarship at POCA Tech to empower and support the next generation of community acupuncturist also known as punks.

In 2019, Acu-Market was pleased to award scholarships to Zandrea Britt and Jaime Long!

“Thank you again for your investment in student like myself and our education. By awarding me this scholarship, you are allowing me to focus on the most important aspect of school, learning,” said Zandrea Britt. A second-year student at POCA Tech, Zandrea hopes to pay it forward someday. “I hope that one day I will also be able to help a student achieve their goals, like you have helped me.”

Rethinking Acupuncture Packaging

Striving for Zero-Waste

Recent reporting of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch has brought discussion of ‘ethical’ and ‘eco-friendly’ packaging to the forefront. This debris field in the North Pacific is larger than the state of Texas and contains over 80,000 tons of plastic. Of the 35,000 tons of plastic generated each year in the United States, only 3,000 tons is recycled. The vast majority ends up in landfills or as litter on land and sea.

According to a recent study by Global Data, 75% of consumers worldwide now believe that living an environmentally ethical or sustainable lifestyle is important to creating a feeling of well-being. Acupuncture aims to bring about balance and harmony to the body. Even with this growing connection with living an eco-friendly, sustainable lifestyle and personal well-being, limited action has been undertaken by manufacturers to address the concerns acupuncturists have expressed about plastic and paper waste generated from the packaging of needles.

Increased awareness of the issue does have some manufacturers looking at ways to incorporate more eco-friendly practices regarding the design of their packaging. With the introduction of the Zip-Pak, Korean acupuncture needle manufacturer SMC utilized design elements to reduce the impact their packaging is having on the environment.

With ten needles and one guide tube, the packet design of SMC ZIP-Pak 1000 provides the convenience of having ten needles on hand without the extra waste of blister packaging and unused guide tubes. Produced using recyclable #2 PET and #4 LDPE, the minimal packaging significantly reduces the energy needed to manufacture the pouches with the added value of recyclable plastic that can be put right back into supply chain after use. The streamline packet design allows for 1000 needles to be securely packed in a smaller box. Less bulk weight from unnecessary packaging can reduce CO₂ emissions associated with product transport.

The packaging of the SMC ZIP-Pak 1000 represents a step forward in the long journey to create a more circular economy for plastic in which less plastic becomes waste. Acu-Market leads by its values and will continue to seek out improvements that can lead to increased environmental sustainability. A portion of all SMC ZIP-Pak 1000 sold will be donated to Ocean Conservancy. This inspiring nonprofit organization operates multiple hands-on programs dedicated to ocean trash cleanup, protection of marine life and sustainable fishing practices both domestically and internationally.
